On the Back Bar: A Bartender Podcast for The Drinks Trade

Apr 6, 2020

In this episode of On The Back Bar Podcast, Chris talks to Sven Almenning, the managing director and owner of the influential Speakeasy Group of venues.

The group includes iconic venues such as Eau de Vie Sydney and Melbourne, Boilermaker House, the Viking mythology-inspired Mjølner Sydney and Melbourne, and the Champagne and cocktail bar Nick and Nora.

On top of this, he has an incredibly useful training and management platform for the hospitality industry named Ananas. Ananas has just become free for everyone during the COVID pandemic.

The courses are in-depth and diverse and as Sven mentions in the show this is a great opportunity for us to upskill and learn. We talk about this, his golden rule for concepts and also why he had to get a firearms license to import a cocktail shaker.

Enjoy!
